One definition of the word ‘set’ expresses an entity made up of a number of
elements. Initially, we view architecture as an individual body but as we investigate further, we begin to
differentiate the various factors that unite its
formation from its spatial configuration to its structural components. On a greater scale the architecture or structure itself belongs to an even larger
entity which is the surrounding built environment. Another definition articulates that set is the assumption of a specific time and place. Architecture and the built environment itself is an
expression of any country, environment or era. It can reflect the lifestyles, traditions and values of people in any region or
moment in history. Architecture plays a large factor in determining the identity of an environment. In establishing the
context of an image or set, people are essentially drawn to the architecture and the built surroundings to find an answer.
